this is another beautiful piece. i love how you’ve explained simple:

“Simple is not calculating, not protecting, or managing how much to reveal and how quickly to trust.”

I aspire to be simple

It’s tricky, hey? Overtourism, whatever that means, sure does seem to make some people terrible; but I like to tell myself that trusting strangers and being kind when I’m visiting can help make up for it. Glad you got your trust back

Most definitely. And I think when we operate with more trust, they can feel it. Thank you for reading 😊

Thanks for this Coco, it really resonated with me. I too choose to trust rather than distrust, deliberately. I've made misjudgements, of course, but have far more often been bowled over by generosity of the human spirit.

Thank you for reading. And yes, I think we gain more by operating this way :)

…the kindness of strangers i have seen throughout the world is unbelieveable…now granted i have also seen some terrible people, but over 99% of my experiences traveling have been filled with proud people sharing…that type of humanity makes me proud to be human…great essay…

totally agree! love the "that type of humanity makes me proud to be human" - in ways that technological advancements cannot match.

and thanks for the feedback as always!
